We recruit our tutors from the trades because we want our apprentices to learn from people who have been there, who have years of real construction experience, and who are willing to share their knowledge.
Many of our tutors wanted a career change without retraining or taking a pay cut. Others recognised they couldn't do heavy physical work forever or wanted reliable working hours without emergency call-outs. Most simply value sharing their skills with young people eager to learn and make a living.

What support will you get as a new tutor?
We offer a transition programme to help turn tradies into trainers at your own pace. You might start with marking work or supervision of training sessions. We can set you up to shadow an experienced trainer.
Course content is designed by industry professionals, and our senior tutors have developed lesson plans - so you won't need to work out what to teach, just how best to deliver it. Our tutors develop their own personal style and become known for expertise in specific areas.
What facilities and support do we provide?
Our state-of-the-art training environments simulate real-world conditions. We have specialised rigs for hard-to-come-by situations like backflow prevention, customised gas training containers, and cutting-edge technology including Microsoft HoloLens augmented reality.
