SUPERVISION OF PRESCRIBED ELECTRICAL WORK

This course combines online learning with an in-person workshop. 

• Self-directed online learning: 4 modules in the Learning Management System (LMS) completed in 20 hours approx. ending with a knowledge check quiz
  
  
• 1-day workshop attended in-person on campus 
  
  
• Supervision Evidence Portfolio (7 hours approx.) compiled from the learner’s own on-job supervision, submitted within 4 weeks of the workshop and reviewed once by the tutor, with feedback on any fixes or improvements required.

To enrol, you'll need: 

• Hold a current EWRB practising licence as a registered electrical worker, held for at least 12 months
   
• Have sufficient literacy, numeracy and digital skills to engage with the course content and LMS 
  
  
• Have access to a workplace supervision context from which to gather portfolio evidence 

The supervision short course is for registered electrical workers who need to supervise more than two people carrying out prescribed electrical work. It suits:

• Registered electrical workers holding a current EWRB practising licence for at least 12 months
  
  
• Workers preparing to apply for the EWRB Supervision endorsement
  
  
• Leading hands, site supervisors and contract supervisors responsible for trainees on Limited Certificates

On completion of this supervision course, learners receive a certificate of completion and a checked Supervision Evidence Portfolio to submit as evidence when applying to the EWRB. With the Supervision endorsement, they will be permitted to: 

• Supervise more than two workers carrying out prescribed electrical work, rather than the default two-person limit 
  
  
• Take supervisor responsibility for trainees working under a Limited Certificate 
  
  
• Step into leading hand, site supervisor and contract supervision roles 

The programme helps participants prepare evidence for the EWRB Supervision Endorsement, including verification practice and logbook records. All endorsement and licensing decisions remain at the sole discretion of the Electrical Workers Registration Board
