Skills Trades Training launches Women in Trades Otago initiative
Skills Trades Training is bringing women in trades together, starting with our first Women in Trades Otago event, hosted at our Dunedin campus on 19 November 2026.
The initiative is about building real connection across the industry. Trades work can be isolating when you're one of only a few women on site or in class, so we want to create a space where that changes: a place to share experiences, swap advice, and learn from others who get it.
What we're building this for
-
Connection, support and networking opportunities for women working in trades
-
A welcoming environment to share experiences and learn from each other
-
Personal and professional growth through collaboration and support
-
Stronger industry partnerships and regional support pathways
The first event
Whether you're on the tools, in training or supporting someone who is, you're welcome to come along. We'll celebrate the year that's been and ask attendees how we can better support women in trades, so future events are shaped by the women they're for.
Date: Thursday 19 November 2026
Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Venue: Skills Trades Training, 11 Glenelg Street, Dunedin
Please RSVP by Tuesday 17 November at Event registration form
